Thomas Tuchel, Dortmund coach: “It is an exciting and very tricky draw. If we want to eliminate this opponent, we need to deliver our best performance twice.”

Jordi Mestre, Barcelona vice-president: “We have the utmost respect for Juventus, Dani Alves plays for them and he’s a player we are very fond of.

Clemente Villaverde, Atlético general manager: “The previous knockout round and the group stage has showed that Leicester are a side you have to be wary of. Vadim Vasilyev, Monaco vice-president: “It’s a nice draw. Like us, Dortmund boast an attack-minded style. I hae heard a lot about their stadium and their fans.”

Dortmund’s overall record against French clubs is W6 D5 L5. Only one of those defeats has come at home, where their record is W4 D3 L1. In France, the German club have won two, drawn two and lost four.

Former Bayern star Lothar Matthäus: “In my opinion, the four best teams are playing against each other. Bayern against Real and Juventus against Barcelona – football fans can look forward to amazing games. Carlo Ancelotti is right when he says that there are not many secrets between Bayern and Real. I see Bayern as a slight favorite, they are a bit more compact.”

Current Bayern coach and former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti: “The match against Real Madrid will be special for me. It is going to be exciting to play against them. We have a lot of confidence and want to win the Champions League this season. I think we have the ability to beat Real Madrid. But they have a fantastic team with a fantastic coach.”

Hans-Joachim Watzke, Dortmund chairman: “We wanted to avoid Bayern, and I think they wanted to avoid us. From that perspective, it is a good draw. I saw Monaco’s match against Manchester City and I am aware that they have a goal difference of +58 in the league. It’s a difficult match. At this level, it doesn’t really matter if you play at home first.”
